Climate Next is an episodic series that follows solution-oriented AWS customers and communities as they use data and technology to fight the effects of climate change.
The climate crisis is still an abstract issue for many people. We can scream stats all we want, but relatable stories about individual impact is the only way for audiences to truly internalize the gravity of climate change. Climate Next tells the stories of the individuals confronting climate change at the front lines; reforesting blighted neighborhoods, revolutionizing the distribution of energy, and restoring essential mangrove forests.
Each episode focuses on two main characters — a climate challenged community and an AWS customer with a plan. These voices tell us their respective stories as we follow them on a journey of coming together, working together, and solving their specific problem caused by climate change. It then uncovers their stories piece by piece, revealing each step like we’re uncovering a mystery. Each episode then delivers the solution as the narrative pay-off.
AWS’ character is represented in motion graphics and creates the fabric of the story that empowers each AWS customer and benefits the end-users. As a result, AWS’ role is subtle but critical for the positive outcomes of the stories.
